September 2009

This week’s slightly extended podcast, our 44th, sees cultural attaché Ben Piears join Cliff and I in the studio.  He even brought his own mic and everything.

We discussed many things, including me causing a scene on a train in the name of chivalry, Cliff finally releasing his inner ‘Angry’ in a supermarket, and Ben has a little cultural quiz in which there could be only one winner.  All this plus birthdays for child molesters and murders, the origin of the ‘elephant in the room’ and what Heather Mills should do with her ‘boring’ prosthetic leg.

I am back!!

Yes, I am sure you all thought Cliff and Ben did a great job last week, but I am back, whether you like it or not.  Ben still pops in for his cultural review - this week he talks about Derren Brown and Kanye West.

Cliff and I chat about narrow/long boats, why trains are utterly shit, and how I once got humiliated in front of Michelangelo’s David.  It’s like I’ve never been away. Well, if you ignore last week’s episode.

Hello, Cliff here, with full read/write editing capability to I Am Livid.

With Angry off on holiday, the podcasting world waited for this week’s effort with all the anticipation of a Mick Jagger solo album, and it’s safe to say I lived up to the expectations.

Of course, none of it would have been possible had I not been joined by our cultural attache Ben Piears, as show 42 sees us tackling such topics as world politics, Michaelangelo’s David and 80’s mercenary action film The Wild Geese.

Also, Ben reviews District 9 and there’s barely a Jude Law in sight.

Without Angry cracking the whip, it’s a bit of a freeform jazz odyssey. What you might call a loose ship.

We overrun massively because we recorded it with no breaks or timekeeping. The jingles had to be dropped in live by playing bit of previous shows off my ipod, so it was like the dark ages, the way our ancestors used to do their podcasts.

Podcast 41 is here with our regular callers Sam and Ben making an appearance and once again showing Cliff and I up for the unprepared amateurs we so obviously are.

This week we learn why elephants bear a grudge, that Cliff visits art galleries in his spare time, and I explain the fun to be had when explaining to colour-blind Fat Jim how to correctly plug an Xbox into his high-definition television.

All this plus a gig review of the UK Bee Gees and a quiz featuring everyone’s favourite womanising actor, Jude Law.

And somehow we do it ALL in thirty minutes.  Amazing.  Sort of.  Well, it is amazing if you’re generally amazed by pretty mundane things - like time keeping.
