I note with interest that the authorities in South Africa are looking to legalise prostitution for the duration of the World Cup in 2010.
I think this is a bit premature on their part. Firstly, England have yet to qualify, and even if we do, there is no guarantee that Wayne Rooney will make the squad.

How will this work? will they legalise prostitution before the World Cup and then ban it again after the World Cup is over?
Surely if something is illegal it’s because the people of South Africa believe it to be morally wrong, if they now believe it not to be wrong and want to legalise it fine, it’s their country but it’s going to become right for two or three weeks and then become wrong again when the footballers have left. Does this seem logical to anyone?
I know governments in general and African ones in particular aren’t big on rational thinking but this sounds like they’ve been taking lessons off their neighbour Honest Bob.

Ooooh! Premature Prostitution? I bet no-one’s documented that one before. But the real thing is that I’m glad SA is going to legalise prostitution because the FA and inflated salaries those big girl footballers earn have been screwing the ordinary football follower for years. Now it’s going to be legalised, that’s all. I mean, £100,000 for ONE WEEK’s WORK? Come on, where’s the note of realism here?

Apparently South Africa feels that you Westerners can’t go on vacation without putting your bangers between the wangers of some local call girls. Plus the need for freaky booty will increase the national gross tenfold.

Methinks it is the press and television boys who are being accommodated here more than the players. No doubt the occasional £25 knee-trembler can be hidden in a BBC expense account quite easily.

yeah great idea legalize prostitution in the most aids infected part of the world. my gov. is filled with idiots. and for those that don’t know Thabo (SA’s pres.) is related through marriage to Robert Mugabe (Zim’s pres.) those two are mates and that’s accepted as fact here
