“Me thinks you doth protest too much!”

I have heard this said many times, and I have in fact used it myself. Usually after a mate has said something like, “She was slim dammit, really skinny, not fat at all, you didn’t see her! She was a super hotty!”

What I want to know is how much protesting is too much, and where do you draw the line between the perfect amount of protesting, and arousing suspicion in your argument? At what point do you go from making a solid argument, to obviously covering up some heinous secret?

I only ask the question, as those Burmese monks have been protesting a LOT in recent days. And it makes me suspicious. Monks do not protest this much, and certainly not because the price of petrol has gone up. I am beginning to think they have something more sinister to hide.

It is the perfect cover for them. No-one ever suspects the monks, ever. When was the last time you read a murder mystery novel and at the end it turned out that the Monk did it? They could quite literally be getting away with anything.

Well, they are fooling me no longer. I am on to them, and I will be watching them like a hawk from now on. The same goes for those Greenpeace activists. No-one can love nature that much, so there is clearly something else going on there. Whether it be drugs, arms trading or child prostitution, I am not sure, but I will be watching them very closely and I suggest you do the same.
