What? That’s crazy. It’s a $500 non-stop flight! How can they tell you you haven’t covered that by flying almost 30,000 mi with them?! Arg.

If it makes you feel any better at all, for me to get home for Christmas, I need half a million airmiles, two frightening planes, and a horse a buggy. Gad, Montana is a long way from…everything.

You can buy airmiles from BA? In what way is this supposed to be an advantage over, say, just booking a ticket?

I once used about 5000 air miles to rent a car. It didn’t fly. I was very disappointed, my dreams of being James Bond came to naught.

The problem with distances starts at youth. For the last 15 years I’ve experienced many different examples of what I have been told is 7 inches. This number of inches clearly resembles no bearing on the actual size.

Given there are 63 360 inches in an airmile there is no hope.

That’s up there with Jade Goody’s comments as to why she ran the London Marathon. She had no idea how far a marathon was and had only ever run 4 miles tops. Perhaps her new PA could get her a job with BA (airline not big black dude!)

I have always avoided the airmile schemes, and nom im glad I did. I believe there was a time where an air mile was worth a mile in a plane, something like that is never going to last though!
