It’s something to do with the pump aparently. Anyway, it blew the electrics, which I tripped back on in the morning, but the boiler is not working. The Chatty Plumber came round to rid me of this months disposable income and after bringing me up to date on everything that has happened to him in the last six months, he has informed me it requires a warrany covered part. He has arranged for someone from the manufacturer to fix it the day after tomorrow. Brilliant.

The boiler is only 11 months old, and under a 2 year warranty so I’m not expecting to have to pay a penny to have it fixed. We shall see.

So, with a lack of heating and no hot water I had to shave in a sink of cold water this morning. I can now truly imagine what it must have been like to be alive during the war. Next time some old fella in the pub tells me “you have no idea how hard it was in my day” I’ll have the perfect resposte.

I don’t know what they were complaining about to be honest, it’s no big deal. Quite envigorating in fact. I’m sure I would have thrived in the olden days.

Anyway, I expect to be back in the civilised world with central heating and a power shower within a couple of days.
