I like comedy. No, I really do. I enjoy a good laugh, and if something on the TV tickles my fancy then I’m perfectly capable of having a pleasant evening without getting angry or lashing out at anyone.

I’ve even been known to enjoy the odd “sketch” show, you know the ones, those programmes with the little catchphrases that each character delivers with unerring predictability, which is invariably followed by some canned laughter. They’re not all bad. But what, in the name of all that is holy, makes you think, for one second, that its acceptable to quote those catchphrases at me in every day situations? You are not a comedian, you’re not even the slightest bit amusing, yet you feel you can quote a David Walliams, Matt Lucas or Kathryn Tate creation at me and I’m going to laugh? Oh. No. I. Won’t.
