Fathers for Justice

Todays news tells us our favourite comedy gear wearing pressure group have decided to cease protests and operations in the wake of a rogue splinter group planning to kidnap Tony Blairs youngest son.

Personally I think it’s a shame, not only do I believe in their cause, but also it means we won’t get the chance to see Batman & Robin hunt down the kidnapper in thier midst.

The idea of dressing up, and going for the comedy angle is one I’d like to see more of. Perhaps animal rights activists could stop beating up scientists, and maybe stage a fight between a man in a sumo suit and an Easter Bunny suit? Or maybe a guy in a giant dog suit could stand in front of the Houses of Parliament chain smoking all day?

I think that from now on, all pressure groups should make their demonstrations more like a University Rag week event. I want Tarts and Vicars selling the Big Issue, anti-war protestors wearing pyjamas and drinking cheap cider, and maybe even the anti-abortion brigade having casual sex in public places after drinking 8 pints of snakebite and black? I think it’d get them a bit more sympathy with the voting public…
